Abstract: Attainment of quality education in hinged on availability and use of financial resources to acquire inputs to education production. The purpose of the study was to examine how the income sources have been utilized in the education process to enhance quality. The major contention of this study is that the introduction of free Secondary Education (FSE) in Kenya induced high participation rates which strained the input resources and consequently affecting quality. The study was premised on Education production theory. A descriptive survey research design was adopted utilizing mixed methods of quantitative and qualitative research approaches. The study used a sample of 148 respondents drawn across various education stakeholders in the study locale. The study revealed that the financial resources are inadequate in meeting the corresponding demand of educational resources. The study also revealed that day schools have a member of stalled projects. The study recommended that education need to be financed by multiple sources.

Abstract: The aim of the study was to establish the effect of board structure on financial performance of large agricultural firms in Trans Nzoia County, Kenya. The study was guided by the following specific objective: To determine the effect of board structure on financial performance of large agricultural companies in Trans Nzoia County. The study adopted a descriptive research design that was quantitative in nature. The target population was the 184 the managers and supervisors of agricultural seed companies in Trans Nzoia County, Kenya. The sample size was 123. The study attained a response rate of 65%. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze data. A close-ended questionnaire was used to collect primary data while secondary data was obtained from the financial statements of the firms. Reliability of the tool was tested using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient while content validity was confirmed using experts.  Factor analysis was done to determine the construct validity of the variables of interest. The results (β= .266, p<.05) suggested that board structure has a positive significant effect on financial. It was therefore concluded that board structure as a corporate governance practices positively affected the financial performance of the agricultural seed firms in Trans Nzoia County, Kenya. Therefore the study recommends that the shareholders’ should not only reduce their firms’ board sizes but the focus should shift from the size of the board to the quality of the agricultural seed firms’ board of directors.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the significant influence of organizational commitment of teacher to their leadership capacity. This study also aimed to determine which domains of organizational commitment of teacher significantly influenced their leadership capacity.  This study utilized the non-experimental quantitative research design utilizing descriptive-correlational technique which included one hundred ten teachers of Ramon Magsaysay Central Elementary School, Digos Oriental District, Digos City Division. Research instruments on organizational commitment of teachers and leadership capacity were used as sources of data. Utilizing Pearson-r, this study found out that the indicators of organizational commitment of teachers and leadership capacity are significantly correlated. When the indicators of leadership capacity were regressed, the organizational commitment of teachers significantly influenced the leadership capacity of teachers. The following indicators of organizational commitment of teachers have influence: affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment.

Abstract: The paper assesses the Techno-economical values of bamboo with a view of assessing its potential for furniture production and employment generation. Rate of returns and Cost Benefit ratio of bamboo furniture such as beds and tables were examined to establish the economics value of the production and the Impact bending which determines its strength to resist sudden load was also evaluated along the height to establish the fitness and appropriateness of the laminated bamboo for production of furniture. Samples were taken along the length at the base, 25%, 50% and top of the total length of the culms. The Rate of Returns (RORI) of bamboo furniture is above 60% and Cost Benefit Ratio is higher than 1. The mean Impact Bending for laminated bamboo is 0.76±0.17m; it ranges from 0.79±0.18m, 0.77±0.19m, 0.75±0.13m and 0.74±0.16m for the base, 25%, 50% and Top of the total height of the bamboo culms respectively.
