turbulent working environment and has a strong influence on nurses' psychological and physical health. The study aimed to: examine the relationship between leadership styles and nurses' psychological well-being at Kafr El Dawar General Hospital. Design: A descriptive, correlational study was utilized to meet the aim of this study. Setting: The study was conducted at all inpatient units (medical and surgical) and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) at Kafr El-Dawar General Hospital (N=22).  The hospital is the second largest hospital at El-Beheira Governorate, with bed capacity (278).  It is classified as follows: (1) medical units (n=7): medical, coronary, pediatrics, hematemesis, obstetrics and gynecology, burn and urology; (2) surgical units (n= 6): general surgery (A and B), orthopedics, ear, nose and throat, neuro-surgery and vascular; (3) ICUs (n=9): general, pediatrics, neonatal, neuro-surgery, coronary care, dialysis, toxicology, eclampsia and burn. Subjects: Composed of 44 head nurses and 270 staff nurses who are working at previously mentioned setting. Tools: two tools were used for data collection; Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire 5X short form (MLQ-5XS) and Outcome Questionnaire (OQ) / Life Status Questionnaire (LSQ). Results: There were highly statistically significant differences were found between head nurses and staff nurses toward total leadership styles. However, there were no statistically significant differences were found between head nurses and staff nurses toward total psychological well-being. Moreover, the highest mean±SD of leadership styles for both subjects was transformational leadership style; also, symptom distress for psychological well-being. Conclusion: based on the results of the present study it can be concluded that, there are positive significant correlations between leadership styles and nurses’ psychological well-being. Recommendation: promote communication between head nurses and their staff nurses through regular meetings with them, allow staff nurses to participate in decision making process and problem solving and express their idea.

Abstract: Background: Authentic leadership is crucial to create a healthy work environment as it is the glue needed to hold together positive working behaviors as well as building nurses’ resilience. Aim of the study: to investigate the relationship between head nurses' authentic leadership and nurses' resilience at kafr El-Dawar General Hospital. Methods:  A descriptive, correlational research design was utilized in all inpatient units (medical and surgical) and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) at Kafr El-Dawar General hospital, EL-Beheira, Egypt for all head nurses and staff nurses. Tools: two tools were used: Tool I: Authentic Nurse Leadership Questionnaire (ANLQ); Tool II: Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC).  Results: Highly statistically significant differences were found between head nurses and staff nurses toward total authentic leadership and all its dimensions and no statistically significant differences were found between head nurses and staff nurses toward total nurses' resilience and all its dimensions. The highest mean±SD for total authentic leadership was relational integrality for head nurses and staff nurses; also, aspects of persistence / tenacity for total nurses' resilience. Conclusion: There were positive statistically significant correlations between total authentic leadership and total nurses' resilience for head nurses; compared to, positive highly statistically significant correlations were found between total authentic leadership and total nurses' resilience for staff nurses. Recommendations: design authentic leadership programs, attend resilience training program, and disseminate organizational resilience policy.

Abstract: The management of Tetralogy of Fallot with concomitant pulmonary tuberculosis poses significant challenges, especially regarding the optimal timing for cardiac surgery. Currently, no consensus or algorithmic guidelines exist regarding screening for pulmonary tuberculosis in this cohort of CHD patients or the appropriate waiting period before proceeding with surgery. Patients may have to wait until full resolution of pulmonary tuberculosis before surgery is conducted. We present a case of a 20 year old female presenting with pulmonary tuberculosis complicating Tetralogy of Fallot who successfully underwent surgery after 2 months of intensive phase TB therapy with Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Pyrazinamide and Ethambutol.

Abstract: Bipolar disorder, a significant condition, primarily affects adults, showing a higher prevalence among them compared to children. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders characterizes bipolar disorder by manic or mixed episodes. Regrettably, this disorder has not received ample research attention, leading to a scarcity of resources for special education educators regarding its definition, origins, and assessment, particularly in the context of assisting students with bipolar disorder. Notably, young students grappling with bipolar disorder often miss out on timely intervention, as diagnosis typically occurs when their condition reaches a critical and potentially hazardous stage. The absence of a precise definition for bipolar disorder compounds the issue, complicating the identification of students who qualify for specialized educational services. Furthermore, limited research exists on bipolar disorder's origins and evaluation methods. The multifaceted origins of bipolar disorder predominantly intertwine genetic and environmental factors. This paper's objective is to compile comprehensive information on bipolar disorder, aiding special education teachers in the early identification and intervention for students dealing with bipolar disorder.

Abstract: Dengue is an infectious disease that is primarily communicated through female mosquitoes; Aedes Aegypt. It leads to disastrous hemorrhagic illness. (Pérez et al., 2018). Dengue is prevalent in humid climate and manifest flu-like symptoms, hyperthermia, respiratory symptoms, and often lead to hemorrhage, and organ impairment in severe conditions. Rapidly changing weather, dense population, and negligence towards Dengue Fever could deteriorate the present situation and result in serious problems like hemorrhage, extreme fatigue and abrupt fall in platelet count.  The study was aimed to determine the level of knowledge regarding dengue fever among the study population. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in the Gajjumatta community of Lahore. Overall, a fair percentage 525 of participants were found to possess good knowledge regarding dengue fever; its symptoms, transmission between individuals, and how it can be prevented. To conclude these findings more educational drives must be incorporated into different communities to keep their knowledge up to date. Prospective studies should target the other aspects of this prevailing problem as well.

Abstract: This study explores the sociolinguistic dynamics at play in therapist-client interactions, with a particular focus on identity construction, therapeutic relationships, and the impact of the medium of interaction. Drawing upon theories from sociolinguistics and counseling psychology, we analyze communication patterns in therapy sessions to understand how language use reflects social identities and relationships. Our findings suggest that language matching between therapists and clients can serve as an indicator of the therapeutic alliance's quality. The transition to teletherapy introduces unique challenges for building rapport and maintaining a high-quality therapeutic relationship.

Abstract: Breast Self-Examination is a method whereby women observe their breasts periodically to detect any abnormal swelling or lumps to acquire timely medical consideration. The purpose for conduction this study was to enable women to know the facts and causes of breast cancer and mastectomy at later stages in order to stimulate the women of the area to seek proper medical attention when needed.  A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the knowledge regarding breast self-examination. A purposive sampling method was used for participant recruitment. 60 females of childbearing age visiting the basic health unit of a community in Lahore city were interviewed using a close-ended self-administered questionnaire. A total of 60 females were interviewed and it was observed that 32 (54%) had good knowledge about breast self-examination 28 (46%) had poor knowledge. Twenty-five females (41.6%) out of 60 participants had performed breast self-examination at some point in their life already and 35 (58.33%) never experienced the procedure. Thirty-three (55%) participants were fully aware of the role of breast self-examination in early detection of breast cancer while 27 (45%) didn't have any clue about this. The findings of our study showed that the knowledge of participants regarding the role of breast self-examination as a screening method for breast cancer was mixed. There is a dire need for further efforts by legislative institutes and healthcare facilities to implement awareness campaigns in collaboration with media groups to reach the maximum population.

Abstract: Communication is a mutual process between two or more people. Effective and competent communication is the most significant component when trying to achieve the goal of quality care for patients. The aim of the study was to determine the barriers to therapeutic communication perceived by nurses and patients at a tertiary care hospital in Lahore. A descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. A sample of 220 participants was taken consisting of 110 nurses and 110 patients through the convenience sampling method. Data was collected by using close-ended questions. The results showed that enhanced workload and shortage of staff were the most acknowledged i.e. 50% and 49% respectively. But for patients pain, anxiety and physical discomfort, and privacy disturbance were the most perceived barriers to therapeutic communication with a percentage of 84%. The study concluded that there are multiple factors that hinder the establishment of a rapport between nurses and patients to facilitate therapeutic communication. It is of great significance to resolve these barriers to achieve the goal of providing quality care to patients.

Abstract: Background: Patients with cancer cannot be treated until a primary tumor is identified. Often, the only means to determine the primary tumor is to run panels of immunohistochemical (IHC) stains on available slides and cell-block sections. The aim of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of a panel of IHC stain pathways tested by the Cytotechnology Master’s students to guide them to identify primary carcinoma based on cytologic, histologic and IHC assessment of metastatic tumors in cytologic specimens.

Methods: This study will use eight cases with tumors of unidentified primary carcinoma. All differential diagnoses will be listed for cytology final results stating only malignancy with an unidentified primary tumor. All cases used in this study applied in new teaching modality pathways. The Cyto-Histo-correlation pathway was analyzed. The case studies supporting surgical confirmation were compiled and a flowchart /panel designed. 

Results: The resulting flowchart of IHC panels, which were tested with the Cytotechnology Master’s students shows final results and became a new teaching modality. Each student pre-tested and post-tested final diagnosis demonstrates the accurate identification of a primary tumor based on the IHC structured flowchart/panel.

Conclusion: The comparison of pre-testing results of students’ final interpretations and post-testing results using the new pathway were suggesting the use of a created panel as a teaching modality of IHC stains. The panel of IHC stains was effective during the post-testing interpretations by the cytologists and their evaluation of the cytology specimens.

Subjects: The sample Included 192 technical nurses and 100 professional nurses at the previous mentioned settings who are available during data collection. Tool: One tool used in this study, Essentials of Magnetism Questionnaire. Results and Conclusion: - The result of the present study revealed that, the majority of studied nurses got moderate perception of essentials of magnetism. Recommendation Support staff nurses to participate in work design, problem solving, conflict resolution, committees and organizational decision-making workshops as “key ingredients to successful organization”.

Abstract: Evans syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by the occurrence of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and immune thrombocytopenic purpura with or without immune neutropenia. Abstract: Rheumatoid arthritis may be seropositive or seronegative. Seropositive rheumatoid arthritis is more common and usually presents with a more protracted course associated with multiple systemic involvement. Refractory cases of rheumatoid arthritis are commonly seen in seropositive rheumatoid arthritis, leading to significant morbidity. Effective management of this leads to the use of increasing doses and variety of disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs. In addition to the traditional risk factors for refractory disease, uncommon and unusual factors may be elicited. We present a case here in which an unusual surgical finding was responsible for apparently refractory disease.

Abstract: Dermatomyositis is an idiopathic inflammatory myositis usually manifesting with proximal myopathy involving both upper and lower limbs and characteristic dermatologic signs including gottron papules and heliotrope sign. In >20% of cases, dermatomyositis is associated with various cancers whose specific types often reflecting the general distribution of cancers in the population. Such paraneoplastic dermatomyositis may be diagnosed before, concurrently with, or after the cancer diagnosis. We present a case of a woman in rural Kenya with paraneoplastic dermatomyositis diagnosed before advanced breast cancer, to underscore the importance of searching and surveillance for associated malignancy in all cases of dermatomyositis.

Abstract: Background: The 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has had a significant impact on a number of aspects of human life, during the outbreak, nursing students faced many obstacles and it had impacted their attitudes, the purposes of the study are to assess obstacles that faced nursing students regarding distance learning. In addition to determine its impact on their attitudes toward distance learning during COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia.

Methodology: The descriptive cross-sectional design investigated undergraduate nursing students. Survey was conducted by distributing an online self- administrated questionnaire to undergraduate nurses from 29 different nursing colleges all over KSA. Their Attitudes between October to November 2020 using online Google-based data collecting forms.

Results: The results of the study shows that the total mean of attitude toward E-learning was (M±SD: 2.45±0.46). Additionally, it shows that less than half (49.3%) was agreed of opinion about E-learning and less than two thirds (61.5%) was agreed regarding total attitude toward E-learning. Also, it shows that less than half (49.3%) was agreed infrastructure and technology obstacles, and more than half (59.6%) was agreed regarding total E-learning obstacles

Conclusion: The current study looks at how nursing students' attitudes were affected by the difficulties they encountered in an online learning environment. The student, the technology, and the instructors are some of these obstacles.‏‏

Recommendations: Educate nursing students on how to use online learning, and solve problems related to the learning environment, technology infrastructure, technical assistance, and time management; All this will contribute to reducing difficulties for students and overcome the obstacles for E-learning.

Abstract: Background: Buruli ulcers are characterized by massive subcutaneous tissue destruction which can be treated effectively and completely when detected early. Characteristic histopathologic changes are considered one of the confirmatory laboratory methods for the diagnosis of Buruli ulcers.

Objective: To assess the histopathologic features of Buruli ulcer cases presenting in a referral hospital in South Eastern Nigeria.

Methods: A cross-sectional prospective study was carried out among a cohort of 39 Buruli ulcer disease patients referred to a referral hospital in South Eastern Nigeria between July and December 2021. A semi-structured, interviewer-administered questionnaire was used to collect data on the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents while the incisional skin biopsy specimens obtained from the patients in the course of their treatments were sent for histopathologic evaluation. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22; with alpha set at p-value ≤ 0.05.

Results: Twenty one (53.8%) of the study participants were males while 18 (46.2%) were females. Their mean age was 28.41±18.668. Epidermal hyperplasia and elastolysis of the dermis were present in 35 (89.7%) of the patients. There was inflammation of the dermis and subcutis in 34 (87.2%) of the patients while necrosis of the subcutis was present in 38 (97.4%) of the patients. AFB was not visualized in any of the lesions of the patients. Overall, the characteristic histopathologic features of Buruli ulcer were demonstrated in 33 (84.6%) of the patients and four (10.3%) of the patients had features of squamous cell carcinoma while 2 (5.1%) had features of varicose veins.

Abstract: Background: Coma is the main complications after traumatic brain injury. Auditory stimulation is a type of stimulation that can enhance the environment and raise comatose patients' levels of arousal and awareness. Purpose: to examine the effects of direct auditory stimulation program on coma arousal among patients with traumatic brain injury. Design: A quasi experimental (experimental  / control)  design. Setting: Neurosurgical intensive care units, Menoufia University Hospital, Menoufia. Sample: A convenient sample of sixty adult patients. Instruments: a) A Semi Structured Demographic Sheet b) Revised Trauma Score c) Bispectral Index Number d) Glasgow Coma Scale. Result: After intervention, GCS was significantly improved in the experimental group(13.40 ±1.22)  in comparison with the control group (9.90 ±1.47) (P<0.001), Bispectral number was significantly increased in the experimental group (86.26 ±7.29) in comparison with the control group (73.06 ±7.01) (P< 0.001), and ICU length of stay was significantly reduced in the experimentalgroup (9.630 ±2.59) compared to the control group (13.30 ±2.77) (P< 0.001). Abstract: Background: Many performance tests and tools as portfolio directly measure learning processes and products and are recommended in nursing education. Aim of the study was to evaluate the nursing interns' portfolio and satisfaction of faculty raters. Subjects and methods: Descriptive design was used to conduct the present study. Setting: This study was conducted at Faculty of Nursing at Suez Canal University Sample: Faculty raters (N= 9) and nursing interns' portfolio (N= 100). Tools of data collection: Data was collected using two tools through study phases, Rating scales with scoring rubrics; Questionnaire sheet to the faculty raters about their  satisfaction of the developed portfolio. Results: All of the nursing interns fulfill all requirements of the portfolio and discuss portfolio with their supervisors. The median score of all portfolio evaluation elements are 4 which indicate excellent score except working in the development according to community needs and reflection on all activity scored 3 which indicate very good score. All faculty raters (100%) were highly satisfied on the developed portfolio except portfolio assessment that is difficult was 66.7%. Conclusion: The nursing interns' portfolio is evaluated by faculty raters as an excellent portfolio and having a high level of satisfaction. Recommendation: conducting regular training program to the faculty raters about and how to use it. Establishing a system for analyzing and using the data obtained from nursing interns' portfolios evaluation for improving the nursing interns' achievement.

Abstract: Under-five mortality has remained a significant public health concern in Bangladesh despite a consistent decline over the previous few years. The purpose of this study was to identify the socioeconomic and demographic risk factors for under-five mortality in Bangladesh. Data from the 2017–18 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey are used in the study. The study outcome variable was survival time, which was obtained from the variable age at death for the event and the current age of the child for the censored observation. Based on literature assessment, nine covariates were chosen for this study. Product-Limit (P-L) estimator and Log-Rank tests were performed to assess the association between the outcome variables and the selected covariates. The Cox proportional hazard model was also employed in this study to identify potential risk factors for under-five mortality. After fitting the Cox PH model, the factors that significantly affect under-5 mortality include mother's age at birth (< 20), mother's age at birth (> 30), and Sylhet division. Children whose mothers were under 20 and over 30 years old have mortality rates that are 47.5% and 68.7% higher, respectively, than children whose mothers were between the ages of 20 and 30. Regional differences had an impact on child mortality as well. Children in the divisions of Barisal, Rangpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, and Sylhet had death rates that were, in comparison to children in the division of Dhaka, 5.5%, 7.8%, 9.6%, 11.2%, and 55.3% higher.

Abstract: Background: A diabetic foot is a foot that exhibits any pathology that results directly from diabetes mellitus or any long-term (or "chronic") complication of diabetes mellitus.

Significance of the Study:

In Saudi Arabia, Prevalence of diabetic ulcer is ranging from 2%-10%. High rate of lower limb amputation in DFD (More than 15%) and survival rate for undertaken amputation patient are short. Ninety diabetic amputations are performed monthly in Saudi Arabia capital of Riyadh. DFD and diabetic patients’ awareness of DFD and how to take care of it will reduce the incidence of more complications like amputation.

Purpose of the Study:

The aim of this study is to assess the patient’s learning needs for prevention of diabetic foot. This aim will be achieved through the following objectives: (1) To assess of the patient’s knowledge for prevention of diabetic foot. (2) what are the factors affecting levels of knowledge of diabetic patients for prevention of diabetic foot?

Methodology: The research study design was a descriptive and exploratory study. The study was conducted in the diabetic outpatient clinic, Prince Sultan Medical Military City (PSMMC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Convenience samplings, a total of 400 samples were collected for this study. Research tools: The semi-structured interview questionnaire is divided into two parts, Socio-demographic characteristics, and patient health history. A patient's self-assessment of knowledge.

Results And Conclusion: The overall score of knowledge about foot health significantly associated marital status, living arrangement, HbA1c and FBS.

Abstract: This study was carried out to extract oil from cashew nuts purchased from SabonGari market in Fagge local government area, Kano state and to characterize the oil; with the view to ascertain itsr suitability for consumption and other uses. Soxhlet apparatus was used for the extraction using n-hexane as solvent. The physicochemical properties of the extracted oil were analyzed. The oil was light yellow in appearance The percentage oil extracted was found to be 29.5%, the boiling point of the oil was 230°C, the acid value was 12.57 mgKOH/g, the |Free fatty acid (FFA) was found to be 6.36 mgKOH/g, the saponification value and pH were 131 mgKOH/g and 6.65 respectively. The results of the physicochemical analysis as compared with the standard show that the cashew kernel oil is non-toxic.

Abstract: Background: Gastric retention and sustained drug delivery are targeted drug delivery systems aimed at achieving clinical outcomes that are farfetched with conventional drug delivery systems. This study aimed to design a sustained release hybrid multiparticulate metronidazole particulate delivery that is swell-able, floatable and bio-adhesive using natural polymer composites.

Methods: Sesame leaf and okra pod mucilages were precipitated with absolute ethanol (99%) and characterized for flow properties, swelling index, pH, proximate composition and compatibility using Fourier’s Transformed Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). F1-F8 metronidazole multiparticulates were prepared by extruding the drug-polymer blend into a cross-linking agent. The polymer composites were made of  sodium alginate and sesame leaf gum or okra pod gum in 10:3, 5:2, 2:1 and a combination of all the polymers in 5:1:1 and 4:1:1 in which the polymer composites were pre-gelatinized at 50°C. The formed particles were evaluated for swelling index, floating properties, ex vivo bio-adhesion, effect of particle size and polymer concentration on drug release, morphology using scanned electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) for compatibility and stability, drug content, entrapment efficiency and in-vitro dissolution studies.  

Results: The pH of sesame leaf and okra pod gums was 6.41±0.00 and 7.16±0.00 respectively, an acceptable biological range. Sesame leaf gum had a poorer flow property with Carr’s Index 50°±0.06 and Hausner’s ratio 1.67°±0.06, when compared with okra pod gum of Carr’s Index 19.4°±0.06 and Hausner’s ratio of 1.24°±0.06. Also, the swelling index of sesame leaf gum (1390±0.02%) was close to three times that of okra pod gum (480±0.03%). The FTIR showed no significant change between the spectra of dry powder mix and F7 (polymer composite 5:1:1) as the functional groups were consistent in all the spectra. The XRD showed no significant changes in the diffractograms as B type crystallinity occurred at 22° for pure metronidazole and F7. The percentage yield ranges from 19.6 to 30.3% and swelling index range 40.9 to 107.2% of the particles. Floating buoyancy was 74.5% for F4 and 10.2% for F8 while the floating lag time for F4 (polymer composite 10:3 of sodium alginate and okra pod gum) and F8 (polymer composite 4:1:1) were 336±29s and 933±45s respectively. The ex vivo bio-adhesion showed F3 (polymer composite 5:2 of sodium alginate and sesame leaf gum) and F7 with 129.3±8.1s and 941.7±40.1s detachment time respectively. Entrapment efficiencies also range from 34.2% to 51.7% with F2 having the highest drug entrapment. From the dissolution studies, 4.1-7.9µg/ml of metronidazole was constantly released over 24 h, and at 95% confidence interval using anova test, the particle size and the polymer concentration 4.8-6% w/v has statistically significant effect on the amount of drug release per time. Sustained release model was Higuchi’s and the mechanism of drug release was quasi-Fickian diffusion.

Conclusion: The metronidazole multiparticulates (sodium alginate and sesame leaf gum or okra pod gum in 10:3, 5:2, 2:1  and a combination of all polymers in 5:1:1 and 4:1:1) were all swellable and sustained release over 24 h maintaining a narrow range of release 4.1-7.9 mcg/ml per time. The best bio-adhesive formulation was F7 while best floating behavior was exhibited by F4 with floating buoyancy of 74.5% and the best swellable hollow spheres was F6.

Abstract: Cholera is an acute diarrheal infection due to ingestion of food or water contaminated by bacterium ‘’Vibrio cholera’’. It is endemic in many parts of Nigeria and is often fatal if not treated urgently. This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to assess the prevalence and associated risk factors of cholera infection among the inhabitants of Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT, Abuja, Nigeria. A total of 423 stool samples were collected from individual whose ages ranges from 2 to 70 years with mean age of 30 years using multi-stage random sampling technique to determine the prevalence using culture techniques. Social-demographic data were collected using structured self-administered questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages, Odd Ratios and Chi-square analytical methods. Out of 423 samples tested for Cholera, 150(35.5%) were positive, while, the age-related prevalence, was highest in 18-29 year old age group (OR=3.21; P=0.001) with 70.8%, followed by those within the age bracket of 5-10 years (OR=2.12) with 51.4%. The gender-related prevalence was higher in females (OR=2.23; P=0.037) with 42.6%, while, their male counter-parts (OR=1.01) had 27.5% of the infection. Sources of drinking water, educational status, age and gender had significant effects on the prevalence of cholera among the population. There is significant association between gender (X² = 4.33; P = 0.037); age (X² = 53.80; P = 0.001) and Cholera infection in the area. Government should encourage public health campaign, in form of health education, provision of portable water as well as hygiene and sanitation practices to drastically reduce the rate of infection.

Abstract: Introduction: Prevention implies 'to stop doing something'. Cure means 'to find a solution'. Man is prone to commit mistakes. Prevention is the shield which saves mankind from many disasters, chaos and destruction. In medical profession have lots of condition we can prevent such as VAP. Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a major cause of hospital morbidity and mortality despite recent advances in diagnosis and accuracy of management. Material and Methods: descriptive study survey design was used to collect data from 24 all ventilated patient, non-probability convenience Sampling technique done in critical care area –ICUA, ICU-B and ITU of Ruby General Hospital, every day collect data on basis of inclusion criteria on 21/10/17 to 8/12/17, data analysis done descriptive and inferential statistics and association analysis by Chi square test. Results : 100% compliance rate about some selective criteria among 24 patient under mechanical ventilator such as cuff pressure maintained 20-30 cmH2O(100%), elevation of the head of the bed(100%) ,used of PPI(100%) ,mouth care by tooth and pest (100%), the another practice for prevention of gastric distension got 80% followed intermittent RT feeding and 35% practice continues RT feeding under patient mechanical ventilator .Sixth number criteria ; sending of sputum after putting patient ET and find any sign of infection –here got 100% compliance on sputum send after patient put ventilator within 48hr -72 hrs of intubation ,31.25% patient had positive sign of infection which induce VAP under 24 patient under mechanical ventilator . The findings showed, that there were no significant association between development of VAP and patient age and disease condition. Conclusion : From the above findings it was concluded that the practice of prevention on VAP health care personnel is effective and 100% compliance rate to maintain standard  practice .Another findings got there is no association between predisposing factor to development of VAP and patient age . There is no association between predisposing factor to development of VAP and patient Diagnosis.

Abstract: According to the mortality report of the Ministry of Health issued Road, Traffic Accidents (RTA) form one of the leading causes of mortality and disability in Saudi Arabia. The objective of this study was to examine risk factors related to road traffic accidents among Hail University’ students. Subjects and methods Descriptive design was used in carrying out this study. Setting: The present study was conducted in collage of Nursing in Hail University male side. Sampling: using a convenient method (100) student from the previous selected setting was selected. Tool: questioner was concerned with road traffic risk factors. It included questions about, driving history, type of vehicle, driver behavior, details of crashes, and accident pattern. Results: 90% of participants reported that they listen to the recorder or radio while driving, (59%) sometimes use the seat belt when traveling using care and (81%) had involved in a traffic accident. Also, overspeed is an irregularity committed by (52%) of them. The most factors affecting a traffic accident was Tires (OR 0.446, 95% CI 0.273--0.728), (OR 2.837, 95% CI 1.456 - 5.526). Conclusion: there was a highly significant association between (youth recklessness / breaking roads) as the most important reasons behind the occurrence of traffic accidents. Recommendation: A high concern to apply and follow the road traffic rules especially from youth is highly recommended.

Abstracts: Nurses in the healthcare system are the backbone of the organization, taking on additional work and making sacrifices to meet the needs and demands of patients. Work overload, interpersonal relationship issues with other colleagues and absence of support from supervisors are common problems in the nursing profession. They are highly exposed to risk and prone to burnout. The study aims to: Investigate the levels of Burnout and stress-coping strategies among staff nurses at Ras El-Teen General Hospital. Research design: A descriptive correlational research design was used in this study. Setting: All units at Ras El-Teen General Hospital in Alexandria Governorate (n=16). Subjects: All the staff nurses working at Ras El Teen General Hospital (n=210). Tools of the study: Two tools were used to conduct this study, Tool I: Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Tool II: Ways of Stress Coping Strategies Questionnaire (WOCQ). Results: It was noticed that the vast majority (91.0%) of the staff nurses had a high level of emotional exhaustion, while less than one-tenth (8.1%) of them had a moderate level and only (1%) of them had a low level of exhaustion. Concerning distancing, a statistically significant correlation was noticed between distancing and self-control, accepting responsibility and reappraisal (r=0.219, P=0.001*, r=0.286, P=0.000*, and r=0.166, P=0.016* respectively). Regarding self-control, statistically significant correlations were found between self-control and seeking social support, accepting responsibility, escape avoidance, problem-solving and reappraisal (r=0.263, P=0.000*, r=0.151, P=0.028, r=0.156, P=0.024, r=0.377, P=0.000* and r=0.204, P=0.003* respectively. Conclusion& Recommendations: The findings of this study concluded that coping strategies could predict the general health of the staff nurses. Measures to alleviate stress among nurses should be applied by using stress-coping strategies.

Abstract: Background: Attention to patient safety and its effect on both individual patient outcomes, and the healthcare industry as a whole are rendered as one of the most important organizational success in achieving the set goals. So, developing and retaining patient safety policies and procedures is one of the biggest challenges facing health care organizations. Patient safety in primary health care (PHC) units is important for all healthcare providers and patients/ clients of health care organizations, especially staff nurses, where their job performance is affected by them. Aim: Compare patient safety in accredited and non-accredited PHC units, in Housh Isa City, El Beheira Governorate Settings: The study was carried out in all accredited and non-accredited PHC units in Housh Isa City, El Beheira Governorate. It includes 25 PHC units divided into; 18 accredited PHC units, and 7 non-accredited PHC units. Subjects: The sample divided into two groups as follow: 1. The health care providers in the previously mentioned settings were 225 out of 428.  It was a total of 162 healthcare providers from accredited PHC units and 63 from non-accredited PHC units.  The chosen healthcare providers were selected using the bowl technique. Accordingly, from each PHC unit, two nurses, one physician, one dentist, one pharmacist, one paramedical staff, one housekeeper, one health educator, and one maintenance staff were chosen. 2. Patients/ clients sample size will be 400 out of 42708 by equal allocation 16 patients/ clients from each of 25 PHC units based on the patients/clients visited in the previous 3 months. Tool: One tool was used, The National Safety Requirements (2018) for Units. Results: The study showed that the accredited PHC units had higher total domain (A) the general patient safety standards and domain (D) the environmental safety standards than those of the non-accredited PHC units with a statistically significant difference between them. Conclusion: There was a statistically significant difference between the accredited and non-accredited PHC units concerning the total patient safety standards mean scores. Recommendations: Healthcare providers should follow organizational policies, rules, and regulations regarding patient safety standards. Also, attend specific meetings, workshops, training programs, and seminars held that will help in improving their performance. The healthcare providers' Managers should enhance the healthcare providers' participation in the assessment and evaluation of their PHC unit to identify their defects and to be able to pinpoint issues or concerns to create an action plan for improvement.

Abstract: One of the hospitals strategies to achieve their goals is to provide support for their nurses, through the visible relationship between them and their First Line Nurse Managers (FLNMs). Aim: to examine the relationship between FLNMs support and staff nurses' performance outcomes. Methods: A descriptive, correlational research design was conducted at Kafr El-Dawar General Hospital, at EL-Beheira Governorate- Egypt. Subjects: it is composed of two groups: FLNMs (n=44) and staff nurses (n=250). Tools: Inventory of Managerial Supportive Behaviors (IMSB), Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9), Turnover intention scale, and Group Cohesion Scale-Revised (GCS-R). Results: There were highly significant relationships between Managerial Supportive Behaviors (MSB) and performance outcomes, (work engagement, turnover intention, and work group cohesion), where (p-value ≤ 0.01). Moreover, there were statistically significant differences between the FLNMs and staff nurses for total MSB and all its dimensions; total work engagement and total work group cohesion, where (P ≤ 0.05). Also, there was no statistically significant difference between the FLNMs and staff nurses for total turnover intention. Conclusion: MSB was related to performance outcomes (work engagement, turnover intention, and work group cohesion). Recommendations: developing strategy for FLNMs and staff nurses to enhance work engagement, work group cohesion and reduce turnover intention, thus improve performance outcomes.
