Abstract:   Chronic pain persists as an enormous challenge for the ease of living of an individual. This has led to the quest for different methods that will help in the management of chronic pain. Research goal here is to assess the effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) on chronic pain management methods via a study using a randomized controlled trial (RCT). The research will enrich the range of studies already done by identifying the gaps and filling in the holes left in previous mindfulness-based programs used for chronic pain. These experimental design starts by selecting a cohort of patients with chronic pain disorder and then allocate them into two groups, attribute one to control or the other to the MBSR group. MBSR treatment is planned to be carried out under a defined duration and frequency, but controlled group can be furnished with fake or standard treatments. The main target of investigation will be the degree of pain intensity or impact of pain on disability. The outcomes of therapy, aside from main, are for instance psychological wellness, quality of life, as well as the usage of drugs. Valid tools like scaled and scales of assessments would be needed for data collection purposes. The data collection phase will comprise the beginning evaluations, outcomes evaluations, and the assessments done for follow-ups. Meanwhile, various measures will be taken to cut down potential biases and blind experiments will be used to assess results without any intention, except in cases where such process will not be applicable. Statistical analysis will be on comparing outcomes between the intervention and control groups while accounting for factors that may lead to confounding or comorbidity. A sample size calculation based on the significance level and power analysis will give the sample size. Ethical matters will be responded to by providing participants with the required documents such as informed consent, confidentiality disclosure and the risk assessment. Ethical clearances, and other such relevant regulatory approvals or review processes will be deliberated with the relevant institutional obtaining bodies. The researchers admit that there are shortcomings, including interviews with a small number of people, and the study's potential applicability to wider populations. The research project can lead to further ones involving different approaches, as well as the new discoveries. In conclusion, this research study on the influence of MBSR on chronic pain management presents promising prospects for improving our currently practiced medicine as MBSR teaches people to live with the realities of their condition, alleviating the associated pain and psychological stressors.

Abstract: Background: Health care workers especially nurses are always exposed to physical, chemical, ergonomic, accidental, psychological and biological hazards that affect their health. Aim of the study: To assess the relationship between work hazards and factors contributing to them and health problem among staff nurses. Research design: A correlational descriptive design was used in this study. Setting: The study was conducted at inpatient units in Suez Canal university hospital. Subjects: 365 nurses working at inpatient units. in Suez Canal university hospital Tools: Using three tools namely; health problems related to work hazards, factors contributing to  work hazards  and  actual hazards questionnaire. Results: It was found that more than half (53.1%,)  of nurses exposed to actual hazard it was found that total factors of work hazards  scored the percentage related to high level  (40. 6%). In addition, the highest percentage of nurses had more than  three to six diseases related to work hazards were (34. 5%).Conclusion: It was found that there was a statistical significant positive correlation between total actual hazards and number of diseases. Also, between total factors and number of diseases. Recommendations: The study recommends encourage health care workers to attend continuing education activities review update related to occupational health and safety program.

Abstract: Background: Electronic fetal monitoring is an obstetric technology that helps to record any changes in fetal heart rate and uterine activity. The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of educational programs on the performance of internship nursing students regarding electronic fetal monitoring in obstetrics and gynecology departments. Design: A quasi-experimental research design (pre- and post-test) was used. Sample: A convenient sample of all internship nursing students (180 internship nursing students) from the Faculty of Nursing at Menoufia University during the academic year 2022-2023). The instruments of this study were a structured, self-administered interview questionnaire consisting of two parts: the socio-demographic characteristics of the study participants and an assessment of internship nursing students’ knowledge regarding electronic fetal monitoring (pre- and post-test). Observational checklist to assess internship nursing students’ performance regarding EFM. Results: There were highly statistically significant differences between the internship nurses' students’ knowledge and performance on the pretest and posttest. Conclusion: An educational program on electronic fetal monitoring carries a vital value for enhancing internship nursing students’ knowledge and performance, which ultimately leads to improved maternal and fetal outcomes. Recommendation: Regular educational programs and workshops about electronic fetal monitoring should be encouraged for all internship nursing students.

Abstract: Background: Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are a major health problem that affects mostly couples, not only in developing but also in developed countries. The study aimed to enhance practices of married couples regarding sexually transmitted disease and used a quasi-experimental design. Setting: at Al-Saff Central Hospital (Obstetrics and Gynecological Clinic) and Dermatological and Venereological Clinic. Sample size: 70 married couples and a purposive sample used in the study .Tools: three tools were used; tool I: Socio- demographic characteristics assessment sheet, tool II: Male practice assessment sheet regarding STDs, tool III: female practice assessment sheet regarding STDs, Results: showed that more than the two third of married couples pre implementing the study have incorrect practices regarding STDs and most of them have a correct practices after implementing the study. Conclusion: most of the married couples pre implementing the study have poor practices regarding STDs, which is improved post implementing the study. Recommendations: design periodic workshop regarding premarital counseling for early detection of STDs.

Abstract: Background: palliative care addresses serious medical conditions including genetic disorders, cancer, prematurity, neurologic disorders, heart and lung conditions and others. Nurses play a crucial role in caring for Palliative and End-of-Life patients and their families as part of the care team Therefore; nurses need a set of various competencies to provide high-quality palliative care. Aim: To assess the effect of competencies perceived based program for nurses' regarding palliative and end of life care. Design: A quasi-experimental study design was used for conducting the study (pre/post-test). Sample: A convenience sample was used to choose 104 nurses setting: The study was conducted in out-patient clinic Beni-Suef University Hospital, Egypt. Tools: One tool was used to collect the data a self- Interviewing questionnaire it consisted of five parts: part I concerning with Socio demographic data for nurses ‘part II: Participants' knowledge questionnaire. part III: Attitude toward Palliative and End of Life Care part IV: Reported practice was conducted to assess nurses' practice regarding Palliative and End of Life Care part V: perceived competencies. Results: The study result revealed that, 27.9% of nurses had good total Knowledge scores before the program which improved to 100% of nurses had good total Knowledge scores after the program. 23.1% of nurses had negative total attitude scores before the program which improved to 100% of nurses had positive total attitude scores after the program, 21.2% of nurses had Unsatisfactory total practices scores before the program which improved to 100% of nurses had satisfactory total practice scores after the program, 12.5 % of nurses had Law total competency scores before the program which improved to 100% of nurses had had high total Competent scores after the program with p value= 0.000. Conclusion: No significant relation between demographic characteristics and total knowledge level, total reported practice, total attitude, total competency among the studied sample pre and post program implementation except income in total knowledge level and place of residence in total attitude level among studied sample. Recommendations: Continuity of adopting and application of competency-based program in different health care setting and collaboration with other organizations and institutions to improve knowledge and practice of nurses.

Abstract: Background: Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder is a common childhood neurodevelopmental disorder. Primary school teachers play an important role in the assessment of academic and behavioral problems of children due to their closely observation of children during the school day.  Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of an educational program for teachers regarding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder among primary school children. Research design: A quasi-experimental research design was utilized. Setting: this study was conducted at 9 Primary Schools at Beni-Suef governorate. Sample: Multistage random sample of 225 teachers. Tools: two tools were used. Tool I): A structured Interview Questionnaire covered three parts. Part I: demographic characteristics of the teachers. Part II: teachers’ knowledge about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Part III: Teachers’ reported practice related to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Tool II): Teachers' attitude regarding the student with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Results: 81.8% of studied teachers had poor knowledge level about attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder at preprogram which improved to 94.2% of them had good knowledge level at post program, while 86.7% of them had inadequate reported practices level regarding attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder at preprogram which improved to 90.7% of them had adequate reported practices at post program  and 85.8% of them had negative attitude toward students with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder at preprogram, which improved to 95.6% of them had positive attitude toward students with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder at post program. Conclusion: there was highly statistically significant positive correlation between total knowledge, reported practices and attitude at (P ≤ 0.01) at post implementation of the educational program. Recommendations: Continuous health education programs should be developed and implemented for teachers about attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

Abstract: Patient-centered care principles are embodied in the deployment of a telehealth-based home-monitoring program for chemotherapy patients in Saudi Arabia. The difficulties of chemotherapy treatment are amplified by regular trips to the hospital for monitoring purposes. For the successful implementation of a telehealth-based home monitoring system for chemotherapy patients to happen different stakeholders need to come together and collaborate, ensuring effective communication and support throughout the implementation depends on identifying these significant stakeholders. This innovation paper aims to propose and evaluate the implementation of a telehealth-based home monitoring system specifically tailored for chemotherapy patients and our report found that innovation boosts patients' overall participation in medical treatment and their well-being. The implementation of a telehealth-based home monitoring system for chemotherapy patients in Saudi Arabia has the potential to provide better patient-centered care through early identification of any complications. The adoption of a telehealth-based home monitoring system for chemotherapy patients in Saudi Arabia possesses great potential for transforming nursing practice by improving the standard of patient-centered care.

Abstract: Background: Employee autonomy and passion are fostered by authentic leaders, and those who feel encouraged are more likely to take the initiative.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate how authentic leadership impacts the locus of control of nurses.

Methods: The correlational design was employed for this study, with the 232 participating nurses from Turaif City, Saudi Arabia, being asked to fill out a structured questionnaire showed the study aim.

Results: The participants had a better external locus of control (8.30±1.487) over a lower internal locus of control (8.01±1.364) and perceived their leaders to have high (56.66±9.01) authentic leadership. On gender, no significant difference was noted in authentic leadership, external and internal locus (P>0.05). At the same time, age was found to have a significant difference in authentic leadership (P= 0.03) but not significant to the internal and external locus (P>0.05). Finally, there was no significant relationship between authentic leadership and external and internal locus of control among the participants.

Conclusion: Nurses who see their superiors as concerned about their well-being are more likely to want to reciprocate by going above and beyond the call of duty as a sign of gratitude without feeling obligated to do so.

Abstract: In light of the increasing prevalence of mental health issues, there exists a significant need for efficacious interventions aimed at decreasing depression and anxiety in children of school age and enhance their mental health. A considerable number of mental health interventions are available within educational settings; nevertheless, the effectiveness and quality of these interventions exhibit significant variation. This paper targeted children coming from rural areas in different regions in Saudi Arabia, and Parents in rural community. Authors investigated policy options about rural school-based health centers, and collaboration with other sectors. Currently, the Ministry of Health (MOH) is in the process of developing a comprehensive national mental health strategy in line with Vision 2030. This strategy emphasizes the importance of collaboration among various stakeholder groups and encourages active participation. Furthermore, it aims to align with the Saudi Ministry's overarching principles of patient centricity and the coordination of healthcare facilities, beginning at the local level. One of the disadvantages of the partnership is the need to effectively coordinate all action plans. Abstract: Background: The hospitalization of a child is often a critical event, generating a considerable amount of stress among family members, particularly the mothers. However, there is a noticeable lack of emphasis on identifying the components of stress experienced by mothers of hospitalized children and providing them with effective coping mechanisms. This study aimed to : assess stress and coping strategies for mothers of hospitalized children. Design: A descriptive research design was utilized for this study. Setting: The study was conducted at inpatient pediatric department in Mustafa Hassan pediatric hospital affiliated to Fayoum university hospitals. Sample: A convenience sample of 110 mothers of hospitalized children. Tools: Four tools were used in data collection. First tool: Structured interviewing questionnaire. Second tool: Index scale for family participation in the care of their hospitalized children (Reported daily care). Third tool: Structured Questionnaire sheet for Stress assessment. Fourth tool: Coping Strategies Scale. Results: Equal percentage of studied mothers (more than one third) were in age group 20:> 25 years and had preparatory education. Additionally, the majority of the studied mothers married and not working, as well as more than one third of them achieved high level of engagement in the care of their hospitalized children. There were statistical significant relationship between mother's stress level and their characteristics except household income, there were no statistically significant correlation between mother's level of coping and their characteristics except general health status. Conclusion: This study concluded that less than half of the studied mothers had moderate level of stress and high level of coping strategies. there was a strong statistical significant negative correlation between mother’s stress score and their coping strategies score. Recommendation: Applying an educational intervention program to relieve stress and improve coping strategies for mothers of hospitalized children.

Abstract: Empirical literature gesticulated that most of sub-Saharan African countries’ health sectors finances relied on health development assistance (HDA) from advanced countries of the world (external donors) which in turn reduce public allocation to health sectors in the region.  Given the above, this study investigated the effect of health aid on public health spending in SSA region. The study employed panel constructed data set of twenty-five (25) SSACs from 2000-2022; and panel ARDL and System GMM as estimation techniques. Finding from the study reveals that increased in financial health aid was associated with a decline in government health expenditure. (-0.374) or (-0.445). This implies that government health expenditure is substituted with health aid and; it also implies that health is prioritized as an inferior good in the region. The study concludes that successful governments in the region need to reduce its dependency on the external health support as a result of unpredictability. The study recommends among others the development of their domestic factors like GDPPC that will go a long way to enhance income growth and allow more budgetary allocation to the region’s healthcare sector.

Abstract: This review paper, Mediation As An Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Tool in Healthcare Malpractice, begins with background information on medical malpractice in the United States of America. Given the expansive growth of medical malpractice suits, alternate dispute resolution has been embraced in many states to find swifter and less costly avenues to address medical malpractice suits stemming from health care organizations and private practices. Among the alternative dispute resolution models, mediation has been deemed beneficial in many regards to address potential medical malpractice cases.  Various elements of mediation are presented, including, but not limited to, definitions, types, growth, uses, metrics, benefits, weaknesses, processes and outcomes.  Bible-based alternative dispute resolution in human matters and medical malpractice is also included.  Recommendations for health administrators related to alternate dispute resolutions and related policies are presented followed by a summary discussion.

Abstract: Fetus-in-fetu (FIF) is a rare condition in which a malformed parasitic twin grows inside the body of its twin and usually presents as an abdominal mass. We are reporting a case of a neonate who presented with abdominal mass affecting breathing with difficult airway; FIF was suggestive after further radiological studies. Intra-operatively, retroperitoneal the mass was identified in the subhepatic region and successfully resected. Post operatively patient was recovered well and discharged in good condition.

Abstract: The study examines the mental health of teachers in public secondary schools in Jolo, Sulu during 2023-2024, focusing on various factors including emotional well-being, anxiety, stress, depression, resilience, and coping strategies. It involved 120 teacher-respondents selected through purposive sampling, revealing that most are female, married, with short job tenures and bachelor's degrees. Overall, there's a moderate level of mental health status among these teachers, with demographic factors such as age, gender, and education not significantly impacting their perception. Interestingly, those who report high emotional well-being tend to rate resilience and coping strategies lower.

Abstract: Background: Entrepreneurship is viewed as a catalyst for the development of many countries' economies. Also,increase the visibility of the nursing profession and create new spaces for nurses.  Aim: The present study aims to evaluate the effect of entrepreneurship program on entrepreneurship tendency among nurses. Study Design: Quasi-experimental study design was used. Setting: The study was conducted at Ain shams Medical Hospital University. Sample: A convenient sample composed of (50) staff nurses. Tools: Data was collected using nursing entrepreneurship knowledge questionnaire, General measure of Entrepreneurship Tendency (GET)  and evaluation of nurses'entrepreneur reported skills .Results: High statistically significant differences regarding staff nurses’ knowledge, nurses'entreprenur skills and entreprenurship tendency pre , post and follow-up three months  post implementation of the program with P value (0.000). Conclusion: All staff  nurses who attended the designed training program showed a relative improvement in knowledge, entreprenur' skills and tendency regarding nursing entrepreneurship  post and follow-up phase as compared to preprogram phase which supported the study hypothesis. Recommendation:  Adress entrepreneurship subject into undergraduate nursing courses and Provide training programs, seminar and conferences about entrepreneurship particularly in healthcare field specially for nurses.

Abstract: Awareness of normal and especially abnormal signs during pregnancy is important for the women to take necessary health-seeking behaviors. Pregnancy is considered a period characterizes by a lot of sensitivity where there are unexpected life-threatening problems arising at any stage of the pregnancy right from conception to the postpartum period. Aim: To assess maternal awareness of pregnancy normal and abnormal signs among pregnant women attending maternal clinics at the Obstetrics and gynecology hospital, King Saud medical city. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional study design. A purposive sampling method was used to select a sample size of 130 based on the gestational period of 3 months and above and women attending clinic follow-ups at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, King Saud Medical City. Results: the majority of the respondents were aged 30 years and above (76.9%) and 23.1% of them were aged less than 29 years. Regarding education level, 33.9% had less than secondary education, the bachelor education level 51.5% while 14.6% attained postgraduate education. The majority of the respondents, 76.2% had a good awareness level of the signs while 23.8% did not know any signs. Conclusion: the respondents had good levels of awareness regarding pregnancy's normal and abnormal signs. Recommendation: study recommends that antenatal care clinics should be on the frontline of providing adequate knowledge to pregnant women about normal and abnormal signs of pregnancy.

Abstract: Background: Talent management ensures that the right staff nurses' with the best professional capabilities are in the correct positions in the work environment. Additionally, talent management focuses on providing chances for staff nurses’ development and expanding their cognitive capacity that leads to reducing conflict and overcoming all problems by using appropriate skills to manage the conflict. Aim: To investigate the relationship between talent and conflict management among staff nurses. Study design: A descriptive correlational research design was utilized to conduct this study. Setting: All inpatient care units in Shoubrakhit General Hospital. Subjects: Convenience sampling from staff nurses (n=280) who were working in the previously selected settings and available during the time of data collection distributed as follows; staff nurse with bachelor’s degree, staff nurse with technical nursing institute, and staff nurse with secondary nursing school diploma. Tools: Two tools were used in order to conduct this study: Talent management questionnaire and Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory-II (ROCI-II). Results: The finding of this study revealed that the highest mean percent score of talent management as perceived by studied staff nurses was related to talent development dimension, while the highest mean score of conflict management skills as perceived by the studied staff nurses was related to integrating style. Conclusion: The finding of this study concluded that there was no statistically significant correlation between total talent management and total conflict management skills(r = 0.113, p = 0.060). Recommendations: Conduct frequent training programs and a series of workshops on talent and conflict management skills. Also, enhance a healthy work environment and open communication with their managers, which leads to a decrease conflict and problems in the work environment. Additionally, integrate the concept of talent into the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum to raise the awareness of future staff nurses.

Abstract: Background: Infertility have adverse effects on the sexual and psychological status of women and the BETTER model demonstrated a significant impact on addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by infertile women. Aim of the study: aimed to evaluate the effect of nursing instructions guided by BETTER model on sexual dysfunction, anxiety and marital satisfaction among infertile women. Design: A quasi experimental design (one group pre-posttest) was used in the current study. Setting: The study was conducted in the Gynecology clinic at Benha university hospital, Egypt. Sample: A purposive sample was utilized, which included 60 infertile women. Tools: Four tools were used in the current study: First tool: A structured interviewing questionnaire that consisted of First part: The general characteristics and the health history, Second part: Anthropometric data, Third part: Assessment of knowledge about fertility and infertility. Second tool: Female sexual function index (FSFI). Third tool: Taylor anxiety scale. Fourth tool: ENRICH marital satisfaction scale. Results: The majority of the studied women had a satisfactory knowledge after the nursing instructions. Also, there was a highly statistically significant difference between before and after nursing instructions regarding mean sexual function indicator scores. Only about one third of the studied women had sever anxiety after nursing instructions. Also, more than two thirds of the studied women had marital satisfaction after nursing instructions. Conclusion: There was a highly statistically significant difference between before and after nursing instructions regarding mean sexual function indicator scores, mean anxiety scores and total marital satisfaction scores. Recommendations: Reapplying nursing instructions guided by other models such as PLISSIT model for infertile women.

Abstract: Background: The COVID-19 and its variants outbreak proved to be one of the most transformative events in the modern period and had a significant global impact, especially on educational sector.

Aim: To evaluate the effect of an awareness program for preparatory school students regarding COVID-19 and its variants based on health belief model.

Design: A quasi- experimental design (pre and post-test). Setting: This study was conducted at three preparatory schools were selected randomly in El-Masara, Helwan, Egypt. Sample: A multistage random sample of 210 students from 1^st and 2^nd preparatory grade.

Tool: One tool was used a self-administered questionnaire sheet consists of six parts; students' demographic data, medical health history and COVID-19 related experiences, knowledge, attitudes, reported practices, and health belief model scale regarding COVID-19 and its variants.

Results: 60.5% of the studied students had poor knowledge pre-program, which improved to 90.5% of them had good knowledge post-program, 61.4% of them had negative attitudes pre- awareness program, which improved to 100% of them had positive attitudes post-awareness program and 72.4% of them had unsatisfactory reported practices pre-awareness program, which improved to 98.1% of them had satisfactory practices post- awareness program. Also, the studied students' total mean score of health belief model increased significantly from (65.42 ± 5.79) pre-awareness program to (106.35± 5.58) post-awareness program (P≤0.001).

Conclusion: The awareness program based on health belief model had a positive effect on the preparatory school students’ knowledge, attitudes, reported practices, and health beliefs regarding COVID-19 and its variants so hypothesis was accepted.

Recommendations: Continues awareness programs for all preparatory school students to raise their awareness about COVID-19 & its variants and dissemination of awareness booklet about COVID-19 and its variants among school students.

Abstract: Background: In recent times caesarean section has become a pertinent procedure in the drive to reduce maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity. However, international health organizations are perturbed by the skyrocketing rates of Caesarian section (C/S).

Objective: To determine the rate, indications, complications and outcomes of caesarean section deliveries in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital-Amaku, Awka (COOUTH-Amaku).

Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive retrospective study of deliveries in COOUTH-Amaku from Jananury, 2018 to December, 2022. Data was retrieved from delivery register, patient folders and theatre records. A pretested proforma was used to collect data on socio-demographic characteristics, Obstetric characteristics of the subjects, indications for Caesarean section, maternal and perinatal outcomes and complications. Data was analyzed using SPSS 23 and results were presented accordingly.

Results: The total number of deliveries recorded within the study period was 1,511 with 307 of such deliveries being Caesarean sections (CS), this gives a CS rate of 20.2%.The results also showed that of all the women who had cesarean section, 84.7% were unbooked while 15.3% were booked. The unbooked cases accounted for 75.6% of emergency C/S within the study period. The commonest indication for CS was cephalopelvic disproportion (23.1%) followed by previous scar (21.4%). The perinatal mortality rate was 75 per 1000. There was no maternal mortality. A few complications followed the surgeries with post partum hemorrhage being the commonest.

Conclusion: The rate of caesarean section in COOUTH is moderately high as against the upper limit of 15% set by WHO. Again, the commonest indications for CS are CPD and previous scars. This underscores the need to offer primary caesarean section only when it is absolutely necessary.

Abstract: Background: Caesarean section as a mode of delivery is common and has contributed immensely towards improving the outcome of most pregnancies. There has been an evolution in the perception, attitude and acceptance of the procedure overtime.   

Objective: To ascertain the current status of perception, attitude and willingness to accept caesarean section as a mode of delivery in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital-Amaku, Awka (COOUTH-Amaku).

Materials and Methods: Data was collected using structured questionnaire from a sample of 513 women in COOUTH-Amaku and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results were presented in simple frequency, percentages and tables. A cross-tabulation technique was also deployed to show the relationship between age of respondents and their concern for CS.

Results: The respondents were mainly multiparous mothers (40.9%). The mean age of the distribution was 30.1years with 69.5% attained tertiary level of education and above. Their spouse were also graduates as tertiary level of education was 68.1%. About 86.2% of the respondents showed knowledge of caesarean section and source of knowledge was from their previous experience. The results further revealed that 85.8% of the respondents preferred spontaneous vaginal delivery as a mode of delivery and will only accept caesarean section when there is an indication (90%). On the contrary, 15% of the respondents expressed the willingness to accept CS as a preferred mode of delivery. The major concerns of most of the respondents were risk on the mother (33.7%) and the cost of the operation (32.3%).

Conclusion: Antenatal education should include detailed explanation on the mode of delivery so as to enable mothers to give informed consent if there is need for CS intervention.

Abstract: Background:  Health care systems around the world are under pressure to reform and   improve the quality of service delivery. Care should be safe, effective, patient centered, timely, efficient and equitable. One of the important stages in promotion of safety level is identification of medication errors and their causes. Aim: To examine the relationship between nurse’s pharmacological   knowledge and medication administration errors, at Damanhour chest and Kafer -El Dawar General Hospital.  Methods: A descriptive, correlational research design was utilized for all staff nurses in coronary care , neuro-surgery, ICU , burn ICU, Eclampsia ICU, and Neonatal general  Intensive Care at Damanhour chest and Kafer  El Dawar General Hospital ,El-Beheira, Egypt. Tools: two tools were used: Tool Ι: Pharmacological Knowledge Questionnaire (PKQ) and a demographic characteristics data sheet; Tool Π: Medical Intensive Care Units (MICU) Data from Observation Check List.  Results: There is a gap between nurses’ pharmacological knowledge as compared to the standard guidelines about medications administration, uses, side effects, documentation, patient education and awareness. The medication administration total score was unsatisfactory. Conclusion:  This is first study conducted in Beheira Governorate at Damanhour chest and Kafer El Dawar General Hospital using the first tool (Tool Ι) to measure all dimensions of nurse’s pharmacological   knowledge. There was a negative highly significant correlation between total nurses’ Pharmacological Knowledge and all its dimensions and total nurses’ Medication Administration Erros and all its dimensions. Recommendations: A list of all medications and medication safety policies and procedures are strongly needed and emphasized. Arranging continuous educational programs for nurses, construction of training endeavors based on teaching about pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, dosage administration, therapeutic use, how to calculate, side effects and adverse events of all medication is urgently required.

Abstract: Tuberculosis (TB) in pregnancy is associated with adverse maternal and fetal outcomes. Pregnancy is a risk factor for tuberculosis, especially in high-TB burden populations, due to hormonal and endocrinological changes that impair immune responses to TB. Miliary TB is characterized by 1-2mm nodular infiltrates on chest x-rays that indicate the hematogenous spread of tubercle bacilli. Cases of miliary TB in pregnancy have been reported, especially following in vitro fertilization as well as in natural pregnancy, and have been associated with both first- and second-trimester miscarriages. Active case finding of TB needs to be integrated into routine focused antenatal care in order to ensure early diagnosis and linkage to comprehensive care in high-TB burden areas. We present a case report from rural Kenya of maternal miliary TB that resulted in a complicated mid-trimester miscarriage in order to underscore the importance of TB active case finding in antenatal care clinics.

Abstract: Nicotine is a naturally produced alkaloid in the Solanaceae family of plants, widely used as a recreational substance or an anxiolytic and acts as a receptor agonist at most nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). Pyridine 3-carboxylic acid is a monocarboxylic derivative of pyridine. Also known as niacin, it is a water-soluble vitamin that is indispensable in the diet of humans and animals and has a variety of important applications, such as in matrices for matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry analyses of large polypeptides. With few reported cases of negative effects of nicotine on reproductive health, this study examined the comparative micro-therapeutic effects of nicotine and nicotine - pyridine-3-carboxylic acid synergy on the testis microstructure and subsequent alterations in serum malondialdehyde levels using adult wistar rats.

Twenty five (25) adult male wistar rats were used for this study and they were divided into five groups, with five (5) animals in each. Group 1 is the normal control group which was given food and water only, group 2 was given 0.06mg of Nicotine only for 17 days, group 3 was given 0.06mg of Nicotine and 0.15mg of pyridine-3-carboxylic acid for 17 days, group 4 was given 0.06mg of Nicotine and 0.25mg of pyridine-3-carboxylic acid for 17 days, while group 5 was given 0.25mg of pyridine-3-carboxylic acid only for 17 days. The administration of Nicotine and pyridine-3-carboxylic acid was done orally. Results showed that nicotine & pyridine-3-carboxylic acid synergy had curative effects on the testis microstructure (severe interstitial tissue necrosis and germ cell degeneration) caused by nicotine, helped reduce oxidative stress levels in nicotine-induced oxidation.

Abstract: Background: The novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is a global public health emergency. Vaccines work an infectious agent – viruses, bacteria or other microorganisms that can cause a disease. Common side effects to COVID-19 vaccines are fatigue, headache, chills, abdominal crumb, pain at the injection site, menstruation disorder and uterine bleeding.  The current study aimed to study the impact COVID-19 vaccine on the women`s health Design: Descriptive study will be used to fulfill the aim of the study. Purposive sample was used to recruit 1200 females. Tool: Females data assessment tool were used to fulfill the aim of the study. Results: The main results of the study demonstrated that The most of the studied women  had two doses of covid-19 vaccine, most type of vaccine were AstraZeneca, also the most side effect appeared after first dose.. The most common side effect were pain of site injection, abdominal crumb, sore throat, aye redness, toothache , tingling of limbs, dysuria and show low knowledge about covid-19 vaccine in addition source of information television and change of menstruation as: amount, pain intensity & interval  Conclusion: The common side effect on woman health especially their reproductive system  and show unsatisfactory level of knowledge about covid-19 vaccine and some side effect revisable. Recommendations: Replication the current study for large scale after 5years for more information regarding impact Covid-19 vaccine on woman`s health especially reproductive system side effect or on woman infertility.

Abstract: Background: Autism spectrum disorder is neurodevelopmental impairments in communication, social interaction and attainment, improvement of mother’s awareness led to best health care to Autistic children. Aim: Evaluate an educational program for mothers of Autistic children. Research design:  A quasi-experimental research design was used. Sample: Purposive sample include 197 mothers of autistic children. Setting: In child psychiatry out-patient clinic at Tanta university hospital, El-Gharbia governorate, Egypt. Tools: One tool included 5 parts: 1st: Interview questionnaire sheet, 2nd: Past and present history, 3rd: Mothers’ knowledge, 4th: Mothers’ reported practice. 5th: Attitude of the mothers. Results: The study result revealed that, 5.7 % of studied sample had good total knowledge pre apply education program become 77.2 %. While 92.1 % of studied sample had unsatisfactory with total practice pre apply educational program and become 96.0 % had satisfactory post apply educational program. 86.8 % of studied sample had negative with total attitude pre apply education program and become 79.9 % had positive post apply education program. Conclusion: The mother's total knowledge, total reported practices & total attitude improved after apply educational program. Recommendations: Apply further research in large sample and other setting for generalization.

Abstract: Background Vaginal yeast infection is a common condition that affects women during reproductive age was more than 25% of women worldwide, sodium bicarbonate is one of non-pharmacological agent that help balance out the PH levels of the vagina lead to are vaginal yeast infection. Aim of the study: To evaluate the efficacy of sodium bicarbonate in early management of women suffering from vaginal yeast infection. Design: Quasi-experimental research (pre/post-test) of the study was used. Setting: the study was conducted at outpatient clinic in Fayoum general hospital, Egypt. Subjects: A total of 100 women were divided into two group were recruited (50 for each) Study group who received sodium bicarbonate in plus routine hospital care and control group who received routine hospital care. Tools: three tools were used for data collection. 1) A structured interviewing questionnaire, 2) Assessment of women’s level of knowledge regarding vaginal yeast infection, and 3) Follow up assessment tool for symptoms of yeast infection Results: The study group exhibited a mean age of 28.58 ± 4.99 years, while the control group had a mean age of 29.88 ± 6.13 years. After the intervention, 86 % of the participants in the study group demonstrated a satisfactory level of knowledge, contrasting with 14% in the control group. The study group experienced significant relief in the majority of signs and symptoms compared to the control group. These differences were highly statistically significant during weekly follow-ups up to the third week. Conclusion: the findings of the current study concluded that, level of knowledge was improved after intervention. As well, there is improvement in signs and symptoms of vaginal infection among study samples after applying sodium bicarbonate throughout three weeks as compared to control group who received routine hospital care with statistically significant differences. Recommendation: Healthcare providers are advised to recognize and appreciate the effectiveness of sodium bicarbonate, incorporating it into routine care for early management and prevention of vaginal yeast infections.

Sample: A purposive sample consists of thirty deaf and a mute girl at puberty according to inclusion criteria. Tools: three main tools were use; tool I interviewing questionnaire sheet, tool II knowledge assessment sheets and tool III-healthy promotion life style assessment sheet, construction of PRECEDE-PROCEED model. Results: a highly significant improvement in health life style for deaf and mute girls at puberty. Conclusion: Most of deaf and mute studied girls have poor knowledge regarding puberty and life style as well as healthy promotion lifestyle in the pre-test, which is improved in the post-test and follow up. The results showed that the reason is due to the lack of enabling and reinforcing factors for deaf and mute girls. Recommendations: development educational guideline, design by sign language regarding reproductive health promotion for deaf mute girls and parents, focuses on simple text and images, delivered through different mass media such as YouTube channels.

Abstract: Background: Fetal congenital abnormalities are a public health problem because lead to an increase in disability and a higher risk of experiencing cognitive, physical, and social issues later in life. Aim: to evaluate the effect of application of coping pattern on pregnant women with fetal congenital anomalies. Research design: A Quasi-experimental design was used in the current study. Setting: study conducted in National Research Center (Medical Research Center of Excellent). In Egypt. Sample Purposive sample of 50 pregnant women was collected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Tools: Two tools used to collect the data, tool I interviewing questionnaire for pregnant women sociodemographic characteristic and knowledge assessment sheet, tool II self –Rating Depression Scale, Trial Anxiety Inventory Form Y-1and cope inventory. Result: There was a highly significant improvement in the total knowledge score in post application and majority of pregnant women used religious and active cope as a coping pattern. Conclusion: The present study concluded that majority of pregnant women have poor knowledge in pre-application and there was a highly significant improvement in the total knowledge score in post application, majority of pregnant women used religious and active cope as a coping pattern (were praying and trust in God. there was a highly significant improvement in the total coping score post application. Recommendations: Continuous educational sessions, for pregnant women with fetal congenital anomalies to improve their knowledge skills in dealing with the problem and improve maternal and fetal well-being.

Abstract: Waste generated during treatment, diagnosis, testing, and research connected to the health care of humans or animals is referred to as medical waste. Management of medical waste is a complicated field with many components relating to environmental preservation, public health, and legal compliance. An integrated system that addresses waste generation, segregation, collection, treatment, and disposal in its whole is necessary for management of medical waste. Although the composition of medical waste may contain dangerous chemicals and pathogenic viruses there is however, a latent possibility for resource recovery and reuse within its frequently inconspicuous constituents. Medical waste generation has in recent times increased as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. When comparisons are made, more medical waste is produced in developed countries than in developing ones as a result of high healthcare offered in developed countries. Medical waste tracking systems are not adequate in developing countries as compared to their developed counterparts.  This paper aims to: shed light on the current state of medical waste management, highlight its environmental and public health implications; provide a comprehensive overview of different medical waste management techniques, their effectiveness, and limitations; as well as to pinpoint areas where further research is needed to improve medical waste management methods.

Abstract: To test a theoretical model examining selected predictors (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, patient-centered factors) of the future intention to accept and use smartphone applications for Type 2 diabetic self-management among Saudi women. A descriptive, cross-sectional survey was conducted with 98 women with Type 2 diabetes in public primary healthcare centers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Participants were asked to complete a questionnaire including smartphone use, modified Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Scale, and scales measuring patient-centered factors between October 2017 and January 2018. Participants in this study intended to accept and use smartphone applications for diabetes management in the future. Their current use of smartphone applications in diabetes management influenced their intention to continue using diabetes mobile applications. Testing of the theoretical model found 32% of the variance in participants’ intention to accept and use smartphone applications to manage Type 2 diabetes was explained by the six predictors. However, only effort expectancy was a significant predictor in the final model. This study is the first to examine the acceptance of smartphone applications to enhance self-management among women with Type 2 diabetes in Saudi Arabia. The significant contribution of this study was broadening our understanding of the intention of women citizens to use smartphone applications for self-management. The study addressed the intention to use smartphone applications for Type 2 diabetic management among Saudi women. The study findings suggest that the ease of using smartphone applications will improve adoption in the future. Therefore, both healthcare providers and Saudi women must be engaged in creating smartphone applications to ensure the development of effective applications for self-management.

Abstract: Background:  Workplace ostracism is stressful phenomena that damage physical and psychological wellbeing of nurses and effect on their behavior and lead to negative behavior, counterproductive work behaviors are such a form of negative behavior as a result of workplace ostracism. Aim of the study: Examine the relationship between workplace ostracism and nurses' perception of counterproductive work behaviors at Kafr El-Dawar General hospital. Methods: A descriptive, correlational research design was utilized in all inpatient (medical and surgical) units and Intensive Care Units at Kafr El-Dawar General hospital that is affiliated to ministry of Health and Population, for all staff nurses (N=278). Tools: two tools were used: Tool1: workplace ostracism questionnaire that consisted of two parts: 1) demographic characteristics data sheet and 2) workplace ostracism scale; Tool II: Counterproductive work behaviors checklist. Results: Staff nurses perceived moderate mean percent score for both total workplace ostracism and total counterproductive work behaviors. Conclusion: There was highly statistical significant relationship between workplace ostracism and counterproductive work behaviors at Kafr El-Dawar General hospital. Recommendations: Develop and disseminate workplace ostracism policy, develop fairness and supportive work environment and rewarding employees for supportive behaviors.
