Abstract: Operating a school canteen is a profitable option that schools can utilize to generate additional funds for financing various school expenditures. This qualitative-phenomenological study navigates the resource mobilization practices of public schools in the utilization of school canteen profit in the Division of Davao de Oro. Eight (8) public school teachers of Davao de Oro Division designated as school canteen coordinator in their respective schools participated in the individual in-depth interview. As to the resource mobilization practices, three major themes emerged: supplementary feeding program, school operations and following the school canteen operation guidelines in profit utilization. The challenges they encountered in the utilization of school canteen profit revealed three major themes: limited profit, meager budget shares and bound by guidelines. Three major themes emerged regarding how they cope with the problems encountered in the utilization: encourage patronization, utilization of other funds and team collaboration. Lastly, their insights drawn from the actual experiences in the utilization of school canteen profit revealed three major themes: school canteen operations provide additional funds to school, transparency, and use of canteen profit to fund various expenditures. The results are significant to the Department of Education officials, school heads, canteen coordinators, teachers, and other stakeholders to create and support programs that strengthen the resource mobilization practices of public schools in the utilization of school canteen profit.

Abstract: This study explored the experiences, coping strategies, and insights of teacher-volunteers in the National Learning Camp under the Department of Education in Davao de Oro Division. The camp provided an opportunity for educators to engage in a dynamic learning environment that facilitated personal and professional growth. Findings revealed that teacher-volunteers faced significant challenges, including balancing multiple roles, managing time constraints, and addressing diverse student needs. Despite these obstacles, the volunteers reported a strong sense of accomplishment and professional development, including improved classroom management, enhanced communication, and leadership skills. The camp also fostered personal growth, building resilience and empathy, as well as a deeper reflection on teaching philosophies. Furthermore, the volunteers gained valuable insights into the interconnectedness of education and social impact, particularly in promoting inclusivity and equity. The study also identified several coping strategies employed by the teacher-volunteers, such as adaptive teaching techniques, time management, and leveraging support systems. Based on these findings, the study recommended that educational institutions prioritize experiential professional development programs like the National Learning Camp to foster critical teaching skills and leadership. It also suggested the integration of differentiated instruction and stronger community partnerships to create more inclusive and supportive learning environments. Overall, the National Learning Camp proved to be a transformative experience that not only enhanced the professional capabilities of the teacher-volunteers but also reinforced their commitment to improving educational outcomes and addressing societal challenges.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to assess the implementation of the school-wide secular and Islamic studies program of madrasah al-manarah in isabela city, basilan in a case study setting. A qualitative research design was used. Four (4) FGDs were conducted to gather the needed data. The first FGD was participated by three administrative personnel and two non-teaching personnel, the second FGD by ten selected teachers from different levels and class assignment: 1 kindergarten, 2 elementary, 3 high school, 2 qur- an teachers, 2 Islamic studies; the third FGD by ten selected students from different grade levels, 2 elementary, 4 junior high and 4 senior high, the 4^th FGD by five selected parents. Guided by semi-structured open-ended questionnaire, narratives are drawn on the six ( 6 ) research problems of the study.

The madrasah, the last surviving deped - recognized Islamic institution in the city of isabela, offering integrated curriculum, fostered balance, respect, and holistic education, promoting tolerance, understanding, and continuous improvement. It adopted student-centered teaching approaches, a culturally sensitive environment and developed a comprehensive curriculum framework. Its administrators emphasized collaboration, adaptability, and inclusivity in curriculum development, teacher training, and parental involvement. Challenges included integration with deped curriculum, resource limitations, cultural inclusivity, and philosophical differences. Adaptations included continuous training, resource optimization, conflict resolution strategies, and respect for diversity. Conflict management strategies involved dialogue, transparency, and collaboration, addressing concerns while upholding Islamic values.

It examines the benefits of contextualizing mathematical concepts through examples drawn from fields such as finance, engineering, science, and social sciences. By connecting abstract mathematical ideas to concrete, tangible scenarios, educators can enhance students' motivation and engagement while promoting deeper conceptual understanding. The article also addresses challenges associated with integrating real-world applications, including the need for interdisciplinary collaboration, access to appropriate resources, and alignment with curriculum standards to mention a few. It highlights the importance of teacher professional development in designing and implementing meaningful real-world tasks that align with learning objectives and promote critical thinking skills. Abstract: In this phenomenological study, the researcher examines the changing circumstances of first-year college students in Davao Del Sur, Philippines, as they transition from high school to college or university. The researcher, in conducting semi-structured interviews, investigates participants’ life experiences, coping mechanisms, and insights. The findings reveal that the students face challenges with academic expectations, personal adaptations, and social interactions highlighted the importance of support structures and financial stability. Two primary coping strategies, self-care, and emotional regulation, were identified. Additionally, goal orientation and utilization of university resources emerged as critical factors for student success. This study highlights regional differences in student experiences and provides recommendations for developing tailored support systems in the Davao Del Sur educational context.

Abstract: This paper undertakes a qualitative theoretical exploration of the intricate relationship between self-confidence and performance within both academic and sports arenas among college students. Grounded in established theoretical frameworks, it delves deeply into the qualitative aspects of how self-confidence, as a core psychological construct, shapes and molds learning outcomes and the execution of skills. Abstract: The aim of the study was to explore the effect of the advisory teachers’ instructional strategies on implementation of the revised curriculum for English as a second language. Data was collected through interview schedule, field notes and the open-ended questionnaire. Criterion purposeful sampling technique was used to select five advisory teachers from advisory service in Oshana Region. Data analysis was conducted using typological analysis, content analysis and Atlas.ti. The findings established effect of advisory teachers’ instructional strategies on implementation of the revised curriculum for English as a second language, the prevailing instructional strategies used and the association between instructional strategies and existing implementation of revised curriculum at schools. Advisory teachers need to study and learn the application of instructional strategies, apply strategies to optimise their success and enhance implementation of the revised curriculum which may result on students academic outcomes. Advisory teachers’ instructional strategies have an effect on implementation of revised curriculum that affects schools, teachers’ performance which could results in positive and/or negative student academic performance.

Abstract: For effective training in technical fields, it is necessary to individualize the teaching process for better support of learners and quality learning. To do this, the supervisor who is the teacher must have under his guidance a non-overflowing workforce as provided for in the legal texts to enable him to achieve the objectives he assigns to his lessons in the time allotted to each of the didactic sessions he has with his students. Abstract: This article is based on the mismatch between access to technical training and access to employment for young adults in the city of Likasi. Abstract: This study investigates awareness level of education technology lecturers on artificial intelligence (AI) innovations in universities in South-South, Nigeria. The research comprises three objectives and research questions, and one null hypothesis, employing a descriptive survey design. The population includes 1,990 education technology lecturers in South-South Nigeria, with a purposive stratified random sample of 199. The data collection utilized an instrument named Awareness of Education Technology Lecturers Questionnaire (AOETLQ), employing a four-point Likert scale expressed from Very high level to Very low level. The reliability index of the instrument was 0.72. Face and content validity were established by experts in measurement and evaluation of the University of Port Harcourt. Statistical analysis employed mean, standard deviation with hypotheses tested using ANOVA, at a significance level of 0.05. Findings indicate a Strong awareness of artificial intelligence innovations among education technology lecturers. Although senior lecturers were more positively influenced, the difference was not significant. This minimal influence indicated no substantial variation among the different ranks of lecturers. The study therefore recommends that senior lecturers should collaborate with their colleagues in using artificial intelligence innovations. The Universities should provide trainings, and workshops to support professional growth.

Abstract: Discourse markers are essential elements in both spoken and written English, playing a crucial role in organizing discourse, expressing attitudes, and signaling text structure. Despite their importance in achieving fluency and communication efficiency, the use of discourse markers is often overlooked in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction. This paper explores the functions and significance of discourse markers in EFL teaching, reviewing existing literature on their use and the challenges learners face in acquiring them. It highlights the insufficiency of current teaching methods and textbooks in addressing discourse markers and offers pedagogical recommendations for integrating them effectively into the EFL curriculum. This paper advocates for a pragmatic approach in teaching discourse markers, supported by appropriate textbook selection and AI-assisted tools to enhance students’ understanding and application of discourse markers.

Abstract: With the continuous development of global society, the acquisition of second and even multiple languages has become commonplace, leading to the rapid advancement of third language acquisition (TLA) research. This study investigates the acquisition process and phenomena of language transfer among learners whose L1 is Thai, L2 is English, and L3 is Chinese, using word order acquisition in Chinese as the focal point. Through qualitative research, it is revealed that learners compare linguistic features across the three languages to identify similarities and differences, forming an overall perception of linguistic distance, which informs their transfer choices. In acquiring Chinese word order, L1 transfer plays a dominant role, with learners demonstrating a general resistance to L2 (English) transfer. The influence of L2 is mainly observed in lexical transfer. These findings diverge from the dominant theoretical perspectives in current syntactic transfer models for TLA. Additionally, the foreign language learning experiences and strategies accumulated during L2 acquisition promote learners’ metalinguistic awareness, further facilitating their Chinese acquisition.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the prosociality among 91 college students in Sabah, Malaysia, who completed the 16-item Prosociality Scale online.  Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0.  Kruskal-Wallis H test revealed no significant differences in students’ prosociality by way of age and ethnicity, while Mann-Whitney U test showed no significant differences in terms of gender.  Additionally, Wilcoxon signed rank test, which was conducted to determine the level of significance of each prosociality item by using a hypothesized value of 3.5, showed that all items were significant at p < .001.  Moreover, the overall mean of students’ prosociality was 67.4, indicating that their prosociality was of average level.  In light of the findings, some recommendations were made on how to improve college students’ prosociality.

Abstract: The purpose of this conceptual paper was to present the implications of three leadership styles on higher educational institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia. Relevant articles were downloaded from JSTOR, Google Scholar, Emerald, and ERIC, focusing mostly on peer-reviewed papers published between 2020 and 2024.  Further, a thematic analysis was used to categorize the literature by leadership styles, including servant, democratic, and transformational. Secondary findings indicated that these leadership styles tend to significantly shape institutional culture, faculty morale, and student outcomes, with context-specific implications on HEIs in Malaysia.

Abstract: The "Intercultural Communication" course focuses on interactive communication behaviors in different cultural contexts and the underlying ideologies and norms that inform these behaviors. This paper outlines how the course integrates local multicultural resources into the teaching practice to cultivate students' intercultural awareness and cross-cultural communication skills. In the early stages of the course, students are guided through textbook cases to observe behavioral norms and taboos across cultures, helping them decode the core values of different cultures that influence these norms. Mid-term, students work in groups to create 5-minute bilingual promotional videos, filming and explaining local tourist sites in Zhaoqing with connections to Confucianism, Daoism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. In the final stage, peer and instructor evaluations contribute to their overall course grade, with the evaluations as an integral part of the final assessment. A key aspect of this practice is the insightful interpretation of differences between target and native cultures in the initial stages. By having students search for information and engage in filming, the course fosters enthusiasm for promoting traditional Chinese culture, empathy and inclusivity toward multiculturalism, and the unification of cross-cultural education and communication.
