Abstract: Labor is the most fundamental and core human activity, the mode of human existence, and it creates the prerequisite for human survival and development. The spirit of labor is the fundamental force for national prosperity and rejuvenation. In the new era, with various social ideologies interacting and influencing each other, many young university students are losing their ideals and beliefs, have a weak sense of social responsibility, and lack resilience. Based on the new historical context, conducting labor education, promoting the spirit of labor, and fostering labor values in contemporary university students is not only an important means for these young people to strengthen their mental resilience and achieve independence, but it is also the fundamental guarantee for "realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation" and "cultivating a new generation capable of shouldering the responsibility of national rejuvenation".

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine the issues and challenges related to academic writing among students who are gifted in Malaysia.  The methodology involves downloading and analyzing research papers via Google Scholar, ERIC, Academia, ResearchGate, and other websites.  Secondary findings indicate that the gifted often experience various writing impediments.  First, they may experience a blocked writing gate whereby they display excellent oral skills, but are unable to write their ideas on paper.  Second, a mismatch between their motor and mental development may hinder their writing; despite their high verbal ability, they often resist when asked to do academic writing.  Third, those who experience a disconnect between advanced vocabulary and writing can often read and eloquently discuss texts, but are unable to produce a written essay at the same level.  Fourth, lack of mental maturity and dual and multiple exceptional abilities can impede their writing, which requires motor and cognitive maturity, but some of the gifted are not ready because the information processing segment of their brains is lagging behind their biological age.  Fifth, unproductive psychosocial factors may result in writing hindrances among the gifted, such as, rigid thinking, exceptional personal interests, perfectionism, and twice-exceptionality attributes.  Sixth, some of the gifted are reluctant to engage in informational text writing, probably because of the lack of emphasis in the curriculum or teacher reluctance to teach it.  Lastly, while many of the gifted may start reading early, they lack the cognitive structure and creative infrastructure from which to build, process, and organize their ideas to be put on paper.  In light of the secondary findings, several recommendations are made on ways to enhance academic writing among the gifted.

Abstract: The study examined the effects of Timed Think-Pair-Share (TTPS), Timed Circle Chat (TCC) and Conventional Lecture Method (CLM) on chemistry students’ achievement in Basic Chemistry Concepts. Quasi-experimental design of 3 x 3 x 2 factorial matrix. Two hundred and twenty-one public senior secondary school class two students were sampled for the study from twelve schools in Oyo Zone, Oyo State, Nigeria. The schools were grouped into the TTPS, TCC and CLM groups. The research instruments were Mathematical Ability Test (MAT), Achievement Test in Basic Chemistry Concepts (ATBCC) and Learning Package for Basic Chemistry Concepts (LPBCC) for the treatment. The instruments were validated and were pilot tested to determine their reliabilities using Kuder-Richardson 20 (KR-20) for ATBCC and MAT and Scott’s Pie (π) for LPBCC. The chemistry teachers in the sampled schools were trained on the learning strategy that was randomly assigned to each school. The chemistry teachers facilitated the students in the learning strategies for six weeks. The MAT and ATBCC were pre-administered to the sampled students. The students’ scores on MAT was used to classify the students in mathematical ability levels. The ATBCC was post-administered to the students after the treatment. The data collected were analysed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). The results show significant main effects of the treatment in favour of TTPS, followed by TCC and CLM. There were significant main effects of gender, in favour of female students, and mathematical ability in favour of the students with high mathematical ability on students’ achievement.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the eudaimonic wellbeing among college students in Sabah, Malaysia. A total of 46 students completed a questionnaire online and responses were automatically recorded on a spreadsheet. SPSS 26.0 was used to analyse data. Kruskal-Wallis H test revealed no significant differences in college students’ perceptions of eudaimonic wellbeing by way of ethnicity and age, while the Mann-Whitney U test showed no significant differences in terms of gender. The group mean was 68.25, indicating that college students had below-average levels of eudaimonic wellbeing. Moreover, only 45.56 to 47.83 percent strongly agreed/agreed that they (1) found it easy to get really invested in the things that they did, (2) would find it worthwhile to do something difficult, (3) were clear about what their talents really were and (4) would get intensely involved in many of the things they did each day. Some recommendations on ways to enhance college students’ eudaimonic wellbeing were made in light of the findings.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the adaptive behaviour among college students in Sabah, Malaysia.  The sample consisted of 46 students who were asked to complete a questionnaire online. Data that were collected were automatically transferred onto a spreadsheet and subsequently analyzed using SPSS 26.0.  Kruskal-Wallis H test revealed no significant differences in college students’ adaptive behaviour by way of ethnicity and age, while Mann-Whitney U test showed no significant differences in terms of gender.  Percentages of often/always for each item were collapsed to gain an overall impression of the level of college students’ adaptive behaviour. Findings reflected that they exhibited low to average levels of adaptive behaviour.  In light of the findings, recommendations were made on ways to enhance adaptive behaviour among college students.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of authoritarian, instructional, and transactional leadership styles on teachers’ job satisfaction in Sabah, Malaysia. Findings revealed that principals tended to adopt authoritarian leadership, which was found to have a non-significant relationship with teachers’ job satisfaction.  In contrast, instructional and transactional leadership styles were found to have a positive and significant relationship with teachers’ job satisfaction.  Findings implied that principals should incorporate instructional and transactional leadership styles, which can promote inclusivity, support, and professional growth to create a more engaging and fulfilling work environment for teachers.  In light of the findings, principals were recommended to become less authoritarian by adopting strategies that can increase participatory decision-making that enhances transparency in communication, while fostering open dialogue. Principals can also promote emotional intelligence by showing empathy and considering teachers’ needs, while gradually delegating more responsibility to empower teachers and boost their job satisfaction.  Lastly, recognizing and rewarding teachers’ contributions can help create a more favorable work environment, which in turn fosters innovation and organizational commitment while balancing authority and approachability.

Abstract: Tertiary Institutions, such as universities, aid in developing highly skilled technological capabilities and future leaders who have the knowledge and abilities necessary to promote economic growth the growth of a country. By executing the curriculum created for this goal, universities, as educational institutions, are tasked with preparing young people to contribute to national growth in the future. The main aim of the study is to determine the impact of HRM practices on employee performance of academic staff in Moroccan universities. Three elements; compensation, work environment, and training and development were found to be the best predictors of academic staff performance in a particular Moroccan institution in Marrakesh, Morocco. Three public universities (Univer1, Univer2, and Univer3) were chosen. Out of the 400 questionnaires that were issued, 250 were declared legitimate for the final analysis, and 300 were returned. The application of multiple regressions analysis showed that training and development has positive and statistically significant effect on of the academic staff in Moroccan university. Also, work environment has positive and statistically significant effect on of the academic staff in Moroccan university. Compensations was also statistically significant.

Abstract: The transition to a Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in junior secondary education represents a significant shift from traditional content-based models to approaches emphasizing practical skills and competencies. This study investigates the leadership and management challenges faced during this transition, focusing on schools in Kenya. Using a qualitative research design, including case studies, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, the study explores the experiences of school administrators, teachers, and policymakers. Key findings reveal substantial challenges, including resistance to change, inadequate training for leaders, insufficient resources, and difficulties in aligning existing structures with CBC requirements. Additionally, the study highlights issues related to stakeholder engagement and time constraints. The findings underscore the need for comprehensive professional development programs, enhanced stakeholder involvement, and improved resource allocation to support the successful implementation of CBC. By addressing these challenges, educational leaders can better navigate the complexities of CBC and enhance the effectiveness of junior secondary education, ultimately contributing to a more adaptable and skilled workforce.

Abstract: The study explored the views of college lecturers from selected colleges in Kitwe District on the effect of teaching and promoting creativity in sewing among vocational skills. The study was designed to gather information from the selected colleges on the effects of teaching and promoting creativity in sewing among vocational skills and how it can be improved in terms of teaching and learning (Education), not only in Zambia but the whole world as it is regarded as the (stepping stone) vehicle to accelerate the country’s economy, development and social growth.  Basically the ingredients for human development and the country in general is Vocational and Technical Education and this has been stressed in Zambia’s education system since Pre-independence.  The research design was a descriptive survey. The study objectives identified the methods for teaching sewing at the selected Colleges in Kitwe District. Through purposive and cluster sampling, 100 participants were chosen for the study. A questionnaire and observation checklist was used for data collection. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 21.0 was used for data analysis. Frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations were generated and presented in the table. The study revealed that most lecturers and students agreed to the fact that demonstration, teaching and learning materials had a positive attitude towards the students in learning sewing creativity.  The study therefore recommended that there should be more mechanisms in place to serve as a guide and the use of appropriate teaching and learning materials to facilitate the learning of sewing creativity. Additionally, there is need to improve the teaching and promoting sewing creativity skills in colleges.

Abstract: This paper is a review based on the triple bottom line (TBL) conceptual paradigm and its implications on private higher education institutions (PHEIs) for community development.  Existing literature and analysis suggest that PHEIs need to participate in profitable relations with stakeholders, while integrating their visions and purposes into their management agenda.  The TBL tends to have a positive impact on PHEIs in terms of brand reputation and trust on brand equity and loyalty. Adopting the TBL can enhance mutual trust, reduce protest and help improve the public image of PHEIs, which are expected to support the socioeconomic welfare of the community and preserve the natural environment, while striving to increase their profitability.

Abstract: The purpose of this conceptual paper was to examine the issues, challenges and implications of gifted education in Malaysia.  Secondary research was conducted to establish a general framework; relevant articles were downloaded via Google Scholar, ResearchGate, ERIC, Science Direct, JSTOR and other websites.  A literature review showed that empirical research on the gifted is lacking in Malaysia. Nevertheless, several issues and challenges facing the Malaysian gifted were identified.  In light of the secondary findings and implications, some recommendations were made on what measures could be undertaken to promote gifted education more effectively.
